CPU Benchmark 2/Apr/2007

Sydney, Australia, April 2nd 2007 - PassMark® Software announced that it possesses the world's largest CPU Benchmark database and has made some of the data collected available for viewing at a special website called www.cpubenchmark.net. Three charts (high-end, medium, low-end) display the comparative performance of hundreds of different processors ordered by their 'CPU-Mark' a measurement used by PassMark's award-winning program PerformanceTest.

The data has been collected from files that PerformanceTest users have uploaded to the PassMark webserver. Full purchased copies of PerformanceTest enable users to download other people's profiles so that they can measure their system's performance against other peoples' similarly configured PCs.

David Bolton (PassMark's Marketing Manager) said "These charts will be useful for people looking at upgrading their PCs. They can measure the latest processors' performance against their current CPU and make an informed decision as to whether it is time to upgrade and what CPUs they should be looking at when the time comes."

Unlike many other commercial benchmarking programs, PerformanceTest is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. It is capable of analysing the performance of all of a PCs subsystems and it presents easy to understand comparative reports.
